Olympic officials today in Mexico said that they need some time to check the other events including women’s ski jump before they order them to be included in the Winter Games to be held in Sochi, Russia in 2014.

Two senior officials from the Olympic Committee told Associated Press that they are favorable on the decision on including the sport in the Olympics.

The officials spoke in anonymity as they did not officially announce the decision. It has been seen two times that IOC has not included Women’s ski jump in 2010 in the Vancouver Olympics. The reason for not including was not enough elite competitors.

Women ski jumpers had moved to Supreme Court of Canada and however were refused by IOC for including the sport. Women ski jumpers were confident now and wanted IOC to include this in the next Olympics. IOC is still in process of judging the quality of competition before taking the final inclusion in Norway.

Some other events which are also facing the same problems for being included are Alpine freestyle and skating. President IOC Jacques Rogge is going to take the decision for the same by the executive committee of the event

There are almost eight events which are looking for such approval and one is rejected, Alpine skiing. It was included since 2005 in the championship

The president said that he is hopeful of including the sport in the event if the competiton is good to be seen in the same.
