The Learning Channel, the network that carries Sarah Palin’s Alaska announced today that there may not be second season of the high rated program.

According to the spokesman for the network, Palin is considering a run for the White House and she may not have time for shooting such a program. At this point Palin has not officially announced her plans to run for President of the United States.

Nonetheless, TLC is planning for the worst by suggesting that there will be no second season. The show was highly rated throughout the first season, where Palin spent time taking part in different activities that are common in the largest US state.

However, Palin was blasted by animal rights groups for hunting elk and moose in the state as well as taking part in a fly fishing trip on the program. Palin shot a small elk but did not find a moose during the shoot.

If the program is not brought back for a second season it will leave a large hole in the programming schedule for the network. But Palin did not sign a multi-year contract with the network, making it possible for her to bow out after just one season.

Many political leaders believe that Palin will make a run for the White House in the coming year. The former vice presidential candidate has visited several battleground states in the past several months and plans for more travels throughout 2011.
