It was reported yesterday by the Guardian in the United Kingdom that Wayne Rooney has decided to stay at back with Manchester United and has signed a fresh five-year contract with it.
According to Lou Macari who is a former Manchester United midfielder, the footballer will have a lot of hard work to do so that he can rebuild his relationship with his team mates.
The footballer had earlier this week said that the club did not match his ambitions anymore.
Macari said the above in an interview to Sky Sport News. He said it was shocking to see his return after whatever happened during the week.
On Wednesday he had said that he was worried about his position in the future squad and had also expressed doubts about the club’s ability to attract the best talent in the world. Citing this he had refused to sign the contract.
According to Macari, the statements from Rooney undermined the players and the manager. He said that the footballer was pointing a finger at not only the players and the manager but also the owners back in America.
He also said that it will be the supporters of the club who will determine the future of the footballer in the club. It all depends on whether they forgive him or not.
Mickey Thomas said that he did not think that fans will take a long time in forgiving Rooney. Ferguson said that an apology was given by Rooney to him. The players believed that the apology was very important.
