The federal government announced today that they are planning increase security at all US airports after two explosive packages were found on board a cargo plane.

The packages were addressed to a synagogue in Chicago and were discovered by bomb sniffing dogs.

This announcement comes as the busy holiday travel season is set to begin. The government said that they are hoping that increased security will dissuade further acts and keep the passengers safe.

Law enforcement officials have said that terrorist attacks are likely during the holiday seasons as airlines are often busiest during the holidays. Other countries around the world have also decided to increase their security as well as attacks have been uncovered in Europe in recent months.

Passengers can expect longer delays when it comes to security. While the packages in the recent attacks were sent on cargo planes, passenger planes will also be part of the increased security.

Experts have said that terrorists have likely attacked the cargo planes because they fall under far less scrutiny than the passenger flights. However the cargo flights will start undergoing increased security checks with bomb sniffing dogs and X-ray scans.

The packages found today originated from Yemen and were bound for Chicago. Muslim attacks against those of the Jewish faith are very common in Muslim countries. Many of the Jewish faith have stopped all travel abroad as they fear the vigilante terrorists that have been known to attack Jews who are traveling overseas.
