A new iPad app released today has merged the old practice of shopping from catalogs and the ever popular e-commerce system.

Catalogs.com has released the new app that allows consumers to shop from a catalog-like setting while still taking advantage of the e-commerce convenience.

E-commerce continues to override nearly every form of shopping. Consumers love the convenience that comes with completing holiday shopping from the comfort of their own homes. However, a recent problem with security at some websites has created a small downturn in online shopping.

Still, internet users continue to flock to the e-commerce sites. Yet, catalog shopping has stubbornly held on in a market that has largely stopped using them. The combination of online shopping and the catalog system is sure to be a big hit with a lot of consumers.

Catalogs.com has announced that they will make the app available for other mobile devices as well. The new app should be available for iPhone and similar smart phones before the busy holiday shopping season begins.

The new app allows users to tap to make a purchase or they can simply create a wish list across several different catalogs. The company boasts catalogs from several different companies all over the world.

The app is popular already as reviewers have shown that users can flip pages much like they would with a real catalog and save information from one to another. The official release date is set for tomorrow but many users have already downloaded the app and started their shopping.
