Childress out as Vikings Head Coach

Brad Childress learned this morning in Minnesota that he had lost his job as the Vikings head coach.
The end of Childress’s job comes just one day after the Vikings suffered a disappointing loss to the Green Bay Packers on Sunday. The team has been struggling for the past month and they are currently running with a losing record.
Childress has been at odds with the team for the largest part of the season. Since taking over the team he has been unable to connect with them.
He has also been instrumental in bringing Brett Favre back to the team each year, despite his advanced years and weaker arm.
Now Leslie Frazier will take over as interim head coach. The last part of this season will be an audition for Frazier to see if he has what it takes to head the Vikings next year.
As it stands right now the Vikings will give Frazier until the end of the season to turn the team around before they make a final decision.
This is a similar instance to one taking place in Dallas. Head coach Wade Phillips was fired last week and replaced by Jason Garrett. Both teams fell to the lowest places in their divisions after failing to make the plays on the field.
With Favre slated to retire at the end of the year, Frazier has the ability to start fresh with a younger and more competitive quarterback and possibly make the team playable once again.
