Broncos Cornerback Charged with Sexual Assault

Perrish Cox, veteran cornerback for the Denver Broncos, was officially charged with sexual assault this morning by a Colorado district attorney.
Cox has been playing for the NFL for years. He has been listed as one of the top 5 cornerbacks in the league and has started eight straight games for the Broncos this season. During that time he has lead the league on several fronts and is known as a powerful player on and off the field.
However, the Colorado DA has said that the investigation into Cox has been a long and drawn out process. They issued the warrant and executed the arrest on Thursday and Cox appeared in court this morning. He was dressed in a gray prison uniform and was shackled while being accompanied by an armed guard.
Cox’s attorney started today’s hearing with a request to reduce the $50,000 bond which Cox was currently being held on but that motion was denied. The judge cited the massive salary of the player in his decision to keep bail at the $50,000 figure.
The judge ordered that Cox would be allowed to leave the state only for away football games once he had posted bail. According to the current schedule Cox will be able to leave for two more games. He was forced to waive extradition if he was arrested in another state and had to be returned for a hearing.
The details of the case have been sealed but the police have said that the incident occurred on October 28th of this year.
