The New York Jets are one step closer to the Super Bowl today after they defeated the Indianapolis Colts last night in a stellar win.

The Jets arrived in Indiana yesterday ready for the big game. Early on the teams were having trouble moving the ball down field and there were five punts in the first quarter. However, the momentum started moving in favor of the Colts after the first quarter and it did not take long for them to gain a fair lead.

However, the Jets are known for their strength in the running game and Rex Ryan took well advantage of his offensive line. The Jets spent more time on the ground during last night’s than any game during the regular season.

This is due in part to the fact that Mark Sanchez, the quarterback for the Jets, is still suffering from some minor pain after injuring his shoulder. With that in mind Rex Ryan kept the ball on the ground and it proved successful for the team.

However, going into the final minutes of the game the score was tied and it looked like the NFL was going to be able to try out their new overtime rules in the first game. But the Jets managed to move the ball downfield and kicked a nice field goal to pull off the win and keep the Colts at bay.

Now the Jets will advance in the playoffs and it is likely that their next game will be against the Seattle Seahawks.
