According to a report this morning from Tucson Arizona, the cost of treating those that were injured during the shooting at the hands of Jared Loughner continue to mount and they are being passed along to the patients.

This new information is sparking a massive public outcry over the treatment of the patients. Several of the victims received serious wounds and have hospital bills that are totaling nearly $100,000 in some cases. Now the hospitals in the area are looking to get paid and this is creating a massive issue.

The idea at hand is that public health dollars are supposed to be used for such cases. There are several different options, including short-term Medicaid and also emergency funds that are designed to help those that have problems paying when a disaster strikes.

But the problem is that there are no funds for this right now thanks to the federal government cutting their payments to most states in the US. Arizona has been hit hard after the US government started issuing sanctions over the radical immigration laws that have been proposed and enforced by the state lawmakers.

Now the victims of the crime are feeling the pressure from the hospital over the mounting costs and many are not pleased with this idea. Already campaigns are being started to raise funds for the victims to ensure that they are not harassed by the hospital collection teams when attempting to collect on payment owed for the services.
