Travel Packages Gaining Popularity

The US Travel Group announced this morning that complete travel packages are increasing in popularity for the US travelers.

Travel packages were once non-existent in the US as most companies were hoping to get the most money from each traveler. However, as US travelers have become more frugal, the airlines, car rental agencies and hotels have started to join together in an effort to attract further customers.

For most people travel packages are the best deal. When the airline, hotel and car rental charges are combined the discounts are deep and they help cut down on the travel expenses. Most travelers will use this extra cash to buy extra services at their destination.

Still there has been a wave of people who still believe that they can get a better deal when they deal directly with each individual aspect of their travel plans. However, most find that they are paying far more for each service when dealing direct.

This stands to reason as the online travel companies that are offering the travel packages are able to negotiate the deals properly.

The reason is that they will tell the companies that they will offer the same package to hundreds if not thousands of people. While the hotel or car rental company may lose on one deal, they will actually make a profit on hundreds of them.

In the past three months the number of travel packages that have been booked has doubled, giving credibility to the fact that travelers are still looking to save some cash.
