Wal-Mart Announces Black Friday Ad Matching
By Richard GibsonNov 22 2010
Wal-Mart stunned the business world today when they announced that they would offer Black Friday ad matching in all US stores.
This is a bold move by the company but also endearing to the consumers of the world. Now when a person enters Wal-Mart on Black Friday and finds an item that is cheaper elsewhere, they can make the purchase for the same price in Wal-Mart.
This will end the need to travel to various stores on Black Friday for several items.
However, many are being warned that Wal-Mart does not always carry the same brands and that is what the other stores are counting on. The high-end televisions that are being deeply discounted often do not appear on Wal-Mart shelves and therefore the shoppers will not be able to ad match those items.
That is the trick to the Wal-Mart ad matching system. They have to have the exact model and brand as the other store or they will not ad match the item.
But that does not mean that shoppers will be left out in the cold. Many of the items will be discounted and carried by the largest retailer in the world.
One of the most popular items that will be ad matched is the Nintendo Wii Sports bundle. Best Buy is offering the system for $169.99, which is $30 below the current Wal-Mart price.
Wal-Mart officials are expecting the system to sell out rather early on Black Friday as they have limited quantities in stock per store.
